502 Big block

Probably not the right place to put this but here we go,

My father bought a crate 502 big block(whew expensive) about 4 years ago and its been in for a while now. it ran i would say hmm 5 months ago because the timing jumped and it seems to have jumped again, atleast we think so.

it wont turn over any more and now we cant even manually spin the crank. any suggestions on whats wrong?

And i think we may need a bigger ditributer or sometihing since this is the second time the timing has jumped

thanks

oh its also in a '71 Nova if that helps...

jumped

i think you need to find out exactly (what)jumped !distributor slipped did not hold setting ,timing chain slipped? it's kind of vague .need to go back to square 1 and start over .

i know what jumped, your asking me to find the cause which i think is the distributor and would not know how to find out otherwise

is your clamp not holding it tight ?they are ugly but i have had the best luck with stock mid seventy's clamps on my race motors,is the distributor bottoming out ,due to the heads milled to much and not clamping down .i don't have to much experience with crate motor's ,were the head's and intake on the block already ?
