Default Broken Valve Spring Head Damage

Bad Valve Spring Damage - YouTube

I have attached a slide show of the damage, i would appreciate if someone who knows about 80-85 SBC heads would tell me if the damage caused by my broken exhaust valve spring is bad enough to where i couldnt get by with cleaning, buying new valves, springs ret ect.. and lapping them out by hand.

there is only one valve seat that is worn. the rest are totally fine.

also, these heads do not have valve stem seals, just a washer, the seal is cast into the head.

i would appreciate it greatly if i could clear the air a bit on this.

thanks

yes it is fixable, it needs a new guide, and the seat can be milled out and a new one installed, it isnt something you can do by hand though, it needs a machine shop. the good news is they usually only charge 300 bucks for 1 head for guides and valves, so 1 valve should be cheap enough, the only problem though is finding a good reputable shop that will do just 1 valve

is it just the angle of the pic or shadows? the valve stem guide bore looks oval and not concentric.

i dont think it is the picture angle, the bore is oblonged, and it lines up with where the valve was hitting, a replacement valve giude should fix the hole
