Default carb type and size

i've built a sbc, 350, 4 bolt main. 2.02 valves, edelbrock RPM intake, and i've got a comp cam # 12-600-4 its a "thumper" cam, 2000 to 5800 rpm range, duration @ .050 intake is 227, exhuast is 241 with lift of .479 and .465; trying to find the easiest to calibrate carburetor to run with this cam; i had a 750 edelbrock 1411 laying around, brand new and all it does is flood it, or run it at WOT it wont idle with it, i know i'd have to change springs jets and rods to calibrate it right, but it may still be too big? could use some advice

i use a 600 cfm edelbrock in a similar set-up in my blazer, it ran a lil lean so i put in larger jets and solved the problem, im sure you could lean up your 750 easily, just buy the tuning kit ($25) you will get springs, needles and jets, what you would want to do is put in 3 stages leaner jets, and play with the metering rods until you get it running too lean (pulsating at speed) then move to the next smaller rod. after that, play with the springs for the tune of when the fuel gets dumped in (lighter spring for later fuel delivery and stiffer for sooner)
hope this helps
