Default what do you recommend I do?

I am thinking about buying a 305 small block from my friends dad for $100, but I might be able to get a 350 small block for $600-$700. I need help deciding what to get. which ever one I get im going to rebuild it and put it into an old camaro or nova. What do you think?

as far as i know they are the same block with different bores...so depending on the cost of getting the 305 bored out by you, you might be able to buy the 305 and bore it out and make a 350 for less then just buying the 350

Thanks for the advice. I decided to go with the 350 and I already tore it down. How much do you think it would cost to get the bare block bord, honed, hot tanked, and get the heads cleaned?
