06 fromt window defrost not working
Hi have 06 equinox i have heat blowing through console on defrost but no air circulation through defrost vents by windshield. Read up to recalibrate control assembly completed still have same symptoms any ideas where to check now? Have felt heater core hoses both are hot. Felt radiator hose to thermostat it was hot, lower hose was cold. Any suggestions and yes I have checked antifreeze level, all is ok.

That could be the problem, but it would need to be very dirty to prevent airflow through the defrost outlets. Does air come out the other (front & floor) vents fine? Something you could try is setting the vent so air only comes out the front then comparing the airflow with the recirulation feature on & off. It is normal for slightly more airflow to be felt when the recirc is enabled, but if there is signifcant difference, then the cabin filter probably needs to be replaced.
If the air seems to only come out in one place regardless of the setting (e.g. front when set to floor & vice versa) then the mode control actuator is probably bad.
Just FYI, if you look at this parts diagram, you'll see that the HVAC system in the 2006-2009 Equinox/Torrent uses the exact same part (GM p/n 15781467 or AC Delco p/n 15-73282) in three different places for temperature control (item 15), mode control (item 22), and recirculation control (item 36).

Replaced cabin air filter no luck no difference between air flow with cir button on. Have heat/air at feet still no defrost on dash. How do u remove these actuators?whole dash removal which might as well replace heatercore and check heater blend door while in there correct,

You've already said the defrost doesn't work, but does the air output still change direction accordingly between vent & floor as you move the **** or is there no change? If no change is observed when moving the mode ****, then the mode actuator may be bad. The mode doors may be stuck in mixed vent & floor mode which would also explain why you have no defrost.
The dash does not need to be removed to replace any of the actuators. You only need to remove the dash if there is a problem with the doors that the actuators move. I've attached instructions for replacing all three actuators.

finally got back and yes i hear a difference between the air recirc mode, air output does happen when switched to floor , or back to front vents all that works. im assuming its the mode actuator?

So when i calibrated the controls on dash by hitting the comp button and circ button 3 times in a row all the led lights blink 16 times in a row. This does this everytime i putthe key in ignition. Any help would be appreciated on why it keeps blinking on startup
