Default 2010 2.4 L Burning Oil

I own a 2010 Equinox with a 2.4 Liter engine. Approx 40,000 miles on car. During my last oil change I noticed that not much oil drained out into the pan and the oil was black as could be and appeared to be shavings on the filter. I changed it only after 3200 miles cause my wife said it was making ( that noise ) again and idling a little rough. I Put in 5 qt's of Quaker State full synthetic 5w30 and fresh filter. 5 weeks and 2200 miles later I went to check oil and NONE showed on the dipstick. I put 3 more quarts in to get back to full. The equinox has stalled on us 3 times and almost seems like it boggs down or loses power. Ive heard of a couple of these stories in the (raspy engine noise thread). Taking it to dealer tomorrow to start an oil consumption test and have to bring it in every 500 miles. Ive always been pleased with our gm products and hope that this can get resolved.
