2013 Equinox heated seat
 

Our daughter has a 2013 equinox LTZ with heated seat, 8 way power and memory seats. The driver heated seat does not work. The light on the dash comes on for about a minute and then goes out. The passenger side works fine. I tried to replace the controller under the seat - twice. The local dealer was kind enough to swap out the first one as defective. I am stuck with the second. The new part looks the same but has an updated number - original was #13584810 and the replacement is 13577747. When I put both replacements in, I had the same results - neither heated seat worked and the memory seat stopped working. The power seat worked fine.

The dealer had a VERY difficult time finding the replacement for two reasons - 1) According to the VIN search, this car should have a different part all together. 2) the updated part number. My GUESS is this car was in flux between an older controller and a newer / different style controller.

I can find used controllers online with the same model number as the original, but I hesitate to order it for fear of throwing more money after it. Has anyone else had the same problem and found a solution?
