chime keeps dinging after key is removed
The key in ignition chime keeps dinging after the key is removed when the driver door is open. This just started over the weekend. Things seem to be operating normally aside from this. I was thinking something might have come loose in the ignition lock cylinder or the lock cylinder housing. Nothing feels different when inserting or removing the key. Any ideas?
This is on a 2007 Equinox w/keyless entry and w/o remote start.

Bump.
I'm still having this issue. As a temporary solution I have removed the 2A IGN SW fuse. This disables the key-in signal in the lock cylinder which makes it easier to lock the keys in the car. It also disables the ACC position of the ignition switch.

This turned out to be a bad ignition switch. The lock cylinder was fine. The igniton switch has a button in it that is pushed in while the key is in the ignition. The contacts for that button were stuck in the closed position.
