Let me Introduce myself.
My name is Cesar, I'm Spanish living in Dominican Republic.

Recently I purchased an US imported 2013 equinox with the My Link Radio.
After a week of use, my radio Died.
I tried Fuses, disconnect battery and all the things I could find on forums.

I disassembly the dash extracting the radio and it was Part Number 23135481 with UFU Y UP9.

I came to the conclusion that the head unit was dead. So I purchased another thru USA Ebay with the same part number. (Arrived as a Buick unit, but same part number)

Just couple weeks till arrived.

I installed and as soon as it boots show me theBuick logo and then the LOCKED screen.
Understood.
Need to go to the Chevrolet dealer here (Santo Domingo Motors), the only one in Dominican Republic.
I called to make an appointment and they told me they won't work in ,y car because is from other country.

So...... ****ed!

I spend the next 3 days searching info about the Tech 2, how to program, etc, etc.

In the meantime I had the older unit in my office (I'm an IT guy) and I wonder. Let le disassembly to check it inside.

Plenty of screws later I saw that the radio has 3 main components. The base board, the upper board which connects to the display and the XM radio thing with the yellow connector.

An idea appear in my head. maybe is only one of the boards that is faulty.
So I went to my car, disassemble the Ebay unit and disassemble it.

Once on my desk, I took apart both of them and Mixed the boards.
One with the old lower but new upper board and the other obviously the other way around.
Closed both radios and proceed to test on the car.


First one, dead.
Second one Alive, Chevrolet LOGO and all working well.

Honestly I swapped the units so I don't have any idea which one worked.
BUT IT WORKED!!!

So for me, without access to a Chevrolet dealer, this worked for me.
I just wanted to share.
