vehicle age is just as critical as the mileage, have you ever done a coolant flush or atleast a drain and refill? Dexcool only has a lifespan of 5yrs after that it starts breaking down and can cause electrolysis or in some systems become acidic which can definitely cause a heater core leak. Recalls have very little to do with complaints they are normally only for safety issues or potential safety issues that GM has become aware of.

I have done 2 coolant flushes. I guess its just something to look forward when dealing with Dexcool antifreeze but thank u so much for the information. Greatly appreciated.

2006 Equinox Bad Heater Core
My girlfriend has a 2006 Chevy Equinox and the heater core has gone out. I am out of town and can't fix it and she needs to get it fixed. Someone tell me that there is recall on this product please. Thank You
