Improper reading on the temperature gauge
 

The temp gauge has been really off. Like the gauge is out of calibration. My wife drives the SUV and is afraid of overheating the engine because of the temp gauge acting up. Has anyone else experienced this problem and is it an easy fix?

You can get a cheap temp sensor gun or test strips to check that against the gauge. What is the temp reading that has you concerned?

The gauge goes all the way around to where there is no level indication.
