no tests have been done yet. except the time while shes running I sprayed carb cleaner around base of intake manie, result was no increase in RPM.

I'm thinking the dexcool has ruined the orginal plastic gasket.

will start teardown today.

My guess is he's pinned down in his driveway by the intake manifold.

Saturday made good progress removing the four lower manie, will be taking the AC compressor off and some other stuff

one Y tube guy took off both AC and alt. I believe alt. is unnecessary.

plan to leave alt. on

it seams the pass. side rocker arm cover will be the easiest.

any way the rain isn't cooperating plus fedx didn't even show up w/ gaskets

I found this on Autozone website, you must join the website but is free and painless. Log in, then enter your vehicle, then look for Repair Guides, the categories are on the left side, find the engine then intake manifold, you can print it out from there.

Pesky weather! Sounds like you've got a good start. Can't wait to hear the end result.

Snap a couple of photos of the mating surfaces and gasket if you can. I'm curious how things look down there after a while. How much on the odometer?

201K on the odometer I've owned driven the van for 1.5 years I believe the van had a unmetered air leak when I initially purchased then the leak got progressively worst.

Update on progress
My first observation was the distributer holes gasket was laying on the manifold
So there’s unmetered air coming though that gap.

Second observation was the pass. Side heater core inlet tube isn’t a quick disconnect any more.

?1.There are a couple plastic tubes in the way they have a white C stripe clip can’t figure out how to remove.
?2.Can’t figure out how the throttle cables detach from the throttle body. I could leave cables attached and remove the TB.

?3. I have been informed though Ytube videos that the fuel lines can be very tight will I need 2 wrenchs first to hold the lager nut second flare wrench to loosen?

I’m trying to move the AC compressor over to the driver side where I can access the intake bolts will be loosening the AC bracket and pull out this is the hardest part so far.

?3.I believe the transmission and oil fill tubes will need removing the trans seams to be a 2 part tube I assume I just wiggle it apart?

Note:it mite be easier to remove the top section on it’s own then the bottom section.

hope to remove manifold today.

I sure hope the manifold isn’t cracked.

Any tips is appreciated TB
