Default 2000 G3500 Upper Rear Shock Mount

The passenger side, rear upper mount has completely rotted away, nothing to save. Chevy doesn't offer replaceable mounts. The aftermarket has all sorts of mounts for pickup trucks, but can't find any for these vans. Has anyone run into this before? Found an aftermarket mount, fabricated? Will any of the truck ones fit on this? Any help is appreciated.

I’m curious to know what solution you may have found with this?
I had the same problem happen with my 2009! Driver side rear shock punched right through the upper mount. The only solution I can see is to grind that old mount out and weld something new in at the top. Nobody seems to have any insight when it comes to these vans.

GM just welds in a steel reinforcement. No need to grind out the old.Part# 23208009 & 23208010

If the tower itself is separating, there is a different weld-in reinforcing kit for that.

Thanks for the reply! I see that this solution is for the front suspension only. What has happened is that the rear upper shock mount has rusted out.
I have been searching for a replacement but have only come across everything for the front shocks. Parts breakdowns and cross sections unfortunately do not show or hint at an existing solution to this.
Two local shops here don't seem to know and are talking about grinding and butchering the frame.
For me to weld something in place would be easy though.
What I find strange is that this happened on the drivers side which looks very rotted. The passenger side however was able to stay nice and clean where you can still the original black paint.
For the past few years they have been treating the roads here with a calcium chloride solution for a cost-saving alternative to road salt and our vehicles are rapidly deteriorating as a result.

You might be able to find something to replace the entire mount from the off-road world. Here are just a couple that come up when searching for DIY shock mount kit.
