Default Aftermarket limited slip differential for 06 2500 express?

Does anyone have experience putting in an aftermarket limited slip differential for a 2006 Chevy Express 2500? I've looked a bit and they all seem to be designed for the 3500. Are they actually that different? I just want to be able to get a bit more traction in the soft stuff.

Cheers,
Aaron

Any alxe shop can do one for the axle you have. I got a quote for a detroit tru track for my 2002 2500, but ended up just having my eaton g80 factory locker fixed.

The only difference between 2500 and 3500 is one less leaf spring on the 2500, and a -1000 lbs legal gross weight rating. The axles are interchangeable.

A 3500 could have a full or semi floating axle. So not completely interchangeable. However you are only talking about the carrier and rind and pinion etc part in the centre.
You will need a locker to fit the axle you have. Don't guess, have an expert look at it first.

Yes you're 100% correct canucklehead.
OP, if you have a protruding part with 8 bolts in the center of your rear wheel, then you have a Dana 70 (full-floating). If the wheel hub is flush, then it is Dana 60 (semi-floating). But since yours is a 2500 you most likely have the Dana 60. This is obviously critical when ordering the locker. On 3500 vans, GM seems to have been installing them randomly, this is not an option in the RPO codes, and I owned vans with both types of axles.
