Default Air compressor keeps cycling!

I tried turning on my air in my 1997 Chev van today and all I got was regular temp air. Thinking it was out of refrigerant, I tried installing a new can.

It did not do any good and would not completely empty the can. It was at 55 on the refrigerant dial. I noticed the compressor was cycling a lot.
A few seconds on, then off, repeatedly.

I hope it isn't the compressor since I put a new one on last summer!!!!

Any body with any ideas?

Thanks.
John

try holding the refrigerant can in a bucket of hot tap water. That will force it out of the can better. Your ac has a pressure sensor that is probably not working. Check all electrical connections. If you get it working consider taking the radiator out and use your garden hose to clean out the ac coil. You will notice a huge difference.
