Strange. Are you using factory sized tires? Is the fuel in your area max 10 percent ethanol? Are you in a higher altitude area? It sucks that you are getting less economy with the same van...

Factory tires. Some stations add about 10% ethanol. I live right at sea level.

If I could get it down to 15mpg/16LHK I would be pretty thrilled!

I'm in BC, Canada. What about you? They might tune engines differently for particular regions (Like Californistan)

So I checked my number against Natural Resource Canada - Fuel Consumption Ratings

Fuel consumption ratings search tool - conventional vehicles | Natural Resources Canada

My figure is 18.6 L/100km so I'm pretty much on par.

I also looked at USA department of energy (both are very close).

Your number is 2 mpg better than the federal figure.

I did that a long time ago. If I wasn't feeling lazy I'd go dig out my build sheet. The sticker on the window at the dealership tells you as well.

It may also say in the owners manual.

So, it may be because my 6.0 is E85 capable, but one of the gauges I can bring up in Torque is "ethanol %". I've never put E85 in it, but that gauge usually reads 12.3. Interesting.

Maybe because I was getting some hwy each day....plus long hwy trips on holidays to get me a lower average. If yours is all city driving and no long trips that could be a factor. I have not reset my DIC economy for ages.....years.

I definitely don't get on the highway daily.
I calculate my fuel economy manually, using the odometer, and the volumes on the gasoline pump. The DIC is close. Perhaps a bit under.

I check my DIC against the pump at every fill up. It always is off about 1 gallon under "Fuel Used", and the mileage doesn't jive either.

The pump is about a gallon more than the DIC.
