feedback on Wise Industries pro van liner

bought this side and ceiling liner kit for my new van
not impressed

the kit and the instructions are for a 2003
wise is just lazy and because gm has not changed the body style in so long has not upgraded the kit at all

it came with a cutout for 1 overhead cargo lamp in the wrong place
mine has air bags in the roof which the ceiling panel had to be cut to accomodate

for the amount of modification/labor i had to pay on this would have just cut my own boards and glued carpet on them
it was definitely a pia to get installed

if this kit cost 400 maybe, but not 800

i got the van rug liner- which i think is the same company- it is ok
definitely cushiony
fit was so so
no cut outs for the floor hooks

it looks ok, but was way more labor than i expected
the reason i shelled out 800 for the kit was to cut down on labor and that was not the result at all

i put thinsulate in the walls and then the ez cool over that

then the wise kit and vanrug
finished with some L track on the walls

my main wants here were to deal with the heat in southern az and make the van quieter
it seemed the thinsulate and ez cool were the easiest/labor wise to use for that

the wise kit was supposed to be a 1 hour install lol
try 10-12 hours with 2 people.....

the insulation did not help the wise kit fit well
but on my 2017 the wires for the back lights etc are in a huge bundle running down the drivers side to the back, the kit made no allowance for this at all

basically the kit is supposed to fit kind of loose over everything, we were trying for a more finished look and that was part of the downfall, it should just fit kind of loose over all the wiring, if you cant screw in an area dont
the small panels in the rearmost corners are only to screwed in on 1 side so they just kind of hang out there and cover up wires, we could have done better cutting our own wood etc

cutting out the 3 lights in the top panel- which is huge was pia
and we had to tape back in the one light that was cut in the wrong spot

all of this is probably easier on a straight sided van rather than ours

you can see in one pic that the front trim panel is not back on
those trim panels are probably going to need all of that area removed to fit back in there
and there was no allowance for the front curtain airbags in the kit, we just had to cut all of that out of the panel
hoping to have a friend that builds vans etc like this look at it tomorrow and help me with the trim etc
i saved all the pieces we cut off because think we will need to glue them back in some areas around that trim...

hope this helps someone else considering it

any questions on it will do my best to answer

Just my 2 cents....
I think you did a great job... yes I get that you was hoping to
cut down on the labor .. but let me tell you... anything that is worth while
will take us longer I am a perfectionist ... I try to make things the best I
can .... it seems you have done that as well... dont sweat the little stuff
over all it really looks good....

thanks, i really cannot take any credit!
it was more poor handyman- whom i told this would be a 4-5 hour job at most lol- who stuck with it and really tried to make it fit good
he did a great job

hoping it will work good for me the next few years
very glad it is 95% done!
