Gas Gauge Not Reading Right???

HELP!!!
My fuel gauge shows full, then half, then full again and so on. I put a new fuel pump in it 15k miles ago, it was fine till last week, fluctuating. It has been raining here in Austin, so could something have gotten wet?
I have a 97 GMC Savana van with a 5.7L.
