Default maintenance? - lubricate transmission shift linkage

I have a line item in my maintenance schedule that I can not back track where it came from.
It is to lubricate the transmission shift linkage.

I and am not getting any clarifications from the transmission removal section ... assuming the shift linkage needs to be removed to remove the transmission.

I do see under Range Selector Cable Replacement a reference to control lever arm. It appears to be a lever arm located on the driver's side, on the side of the transmission about middle of the oil pan.

I suppose nobody is doing this maintenance or it is another 'red herring'.

I do not feel at all good about lubricating the ball joint connection without some spec on what to use. Oils and plastics do not typically work well together.

Silicone lube is safe on plastics. (Brake caliper grease)

That being said, I've never lubed a transmission shift linkage in my life, and I've never had issues.
