Need a rear seat, 2013 Chevy Express Van, are they available new?

My employer purchased a 2013 Chevy Express passenger van. Bottom of the line, hardly any options. Red with grey interior, and the ugly base model black grille.

There are two front buckets, 2nd and 3rd row bench seats, and there are slots in the rubber floor covering to add a third rear seat (which I understand would have been a 4 person seat).

That said, we didn't get that rear seat when we got the van, and we need the extra capacity.

I'm pretty good at reading parts schematics, but I haven't been able to find a part number for that complete 4th row seat. My local GM Dealership is completely clueless.

Is this something I can order new from GM, and if so, does anyone have a part number?

Thanks for any help anyone may be able to offer.

Did you try GM corporate customer service?

I have not. I guess that's a good place to start. I'll try that now, report back.

"I am sorry but vehicle seats are factory-installed options installed in your vehicle. These are features or items added to a vehicle while it’s being manufactured. These features are not considered standard equipment, and adding these features to a vehicle may incur additional cost or at worst end scenario may not be compatible to be installed in your vehicle. In you case, you may still opt to check on third party shops to have it customized/tailored based on your needs but be informed that this may void warranty applicable to the component that will be affected by the customized part."

So a seat is not available from GM?

This was a passenger van, the 4th row seat was optional

"We do have seats available as a replacement seat but we don't have options to install an additional seat in it."

The mounting rails are there. I just need the seat

"Yes. It is optional. Provided that you ordered it before you had it manufactured at the factory."

The van came with 2nd and 3rd rows, and the mounting points are there for a 4th row.

So I can't buy a 4th row seat from GM?

"You can check on with our Marketing Support Team for available options but - if in any case - that is is not available, you can check with other dealerships near your area or third party shops to customize one for you. However, be informed that it may void warranty for the component that will be affected by the installed component."

I was then transferred to another dept, who said they couldn't get seats. I asked if there was anyone there who could pull up a schematic and give me a part number. The person said they could give me the phone number to my local dealership, and this was after I'd said "I tried my local dealership and they were clueless"

My grandfather owned and operated our local GMC/Pontiac/Buick dealership from the late 40's until 1989. I can't believe just how crappy this company has become. My family started buying Hondas in the late 80's because the late 70's and early 80's GM stuff was such garbage. This obviously bothered my grandfather, but he was seeing what GM was putting out so he said he couldn't really blame us.

I'm just flabbergasted that a company can't give me a part number for one of their machines. What if I had a wreck and my rear seat was damaged and needed to be replaced? I have yet to reach a single employee with a functional brain.

Well at least you found the schematic!

Looks like they do sell it in pieces. Only problem is, the seat I need the pedestals (part #13) don't seem to be available.

Looks like I can get everything but the pedestals for about $1,040, give or take. I figured a new seat would be $1500, so probably wasn't too far off on that estimation.

Thanks for the link though. At least that somewhat clarifies why the GM people can't find me a part number for the seat. Doesn't look like it's sold as an assembled unit.

True, though beggars can't be choosers.
