Programming RKE on 2013 Express

Yesterday I purchased a used 2013 Express G2500. The used car dealer only had one key and no FOB for it. I called a local Chevy dealer this morning and they ran the last 8 of the VIN and said yes the van is equipped for RKE. He said the FOB was $83.37 and then there was a programming fee. Anyway of getting around not having to take it to a dealer to get a FOB and get it programmed? Thanks.

Sometimes it is does through, or at least partly through, the DIC. I have RKE and there is nothing in my DIC about pairing new key FOBs. Off to the Dealer$hip you go.

I didn't ask the dealer when I called but I can imagine its a 5 minute job at the minimum 1/hr labor rate. Crooks! LOL

A locksmith may be able to do it as well.

Yes I spoke with one yesterday and they can do the programming, $85. Picked up two FOBs for $20.
