Default question on wheels

hi, i'm running a 2001 chevy express 3500. i need to find a replacement spare. i don't have much money to work with so i'm looking mostly on craigslist.
how compatible are rims from other vehicles? i've got 235/85/16 tires on the other four wheels. if i find a rim that will fit these tires will i be ok? or do i need to find a rim specifically from a similar year express 3500?

so far i've got one reply offering a mid-80s early-90s suburban 8-lug with the right tire size for a good price. should i go with this? any questions i should ask?

thanks

same thing.
Ford changed up the bolt spacing, but GM and Dodge stayed the same.

Try the local junkers. Rims with rubber are usually cheap
