Default wipers only work on high speed

1992 GMC Vandura is pretty much 100% operational except for the odd actions of the wipers. Sometimes the wipers only work on high speed. I try the washer pump/low speed and intermittent. I wiggle the control arm trying to check for a loose connection but nada. Not until the wipers run for a short time on high will all controls come back in perfect working order. Doesnt' seem like a connection issue. I hate electrical ghosts. Any suggestions gang?

Is there not a relay you can check or replace?

i could be your wiper motor control module which maybe going bad.all the electronics which control most of your functions are in the control module attached to the wiper motor assembly.its been awhile and if i seem to remember you can change out the module and not just the wiper motor.you can call your local auto parts supplier and see if you can just buy the module.hope this helps, and a side note the wiper relay is incorpperated into the wiper module.

Awesome....also watched a vid with the guy resoldering what seemed to be this module. He said it was a very common issue with early/late 90's model GM's.
