2010 savana 4.8 cylinder head

aren't there head bolts underneath the manifold

Don't worry... the heads of the bolts will just snap off real easy. Sometimes they do it on their own which is likely why yours were replaced. Are you sure they didn't use high temp loctite? Either way heat is likely the answer.

getting the bolts out surprisingly possible - or so the vids i've seen make it look i figure.
I just bought a small MIG mild steel gasless flux core - there's many a superb youtube video for how to remove broken bolts
they most often break off in the rear-most position and the one before that on each side.
I have the same year as you.
It's considered totally normal/common for the back two to break off
in a weird way I'm kinda looking forward to all the new techniques I'm taking on as this is my first OBD 2 vehicle hahaha
I'm totally crazy about CANbus diagnostics now having been a carburetor purist for a long time.
ANYWAYS - 2 a.m. here is my excuse for the ramble with not enough detail.
If you like i can post my fav two or 3 vids tomorrow
the two best welder are YES WELDER and ARC CAPTAIN in my opinion (via amazon though WITH the 3 year add-on warrantee) though any will do harbor freight - whatever
there less than 150 bucks and i figure will be useful for muffler etc.
i'll write better after sleeping if that's of any use.
whatever happens is fine if I've missed something

just woke up here.
agreed on the drilling.
me, never done anything with a welder.
like the idea though sadly there is zero chance i'll be shooting a video during my welding effort. my intellect couldn't manage it. hehehe
well, that's how i feel at the moment.
vids later today. i'm not perfectly organized so will fumble around for them later this afternoon, evening.
we've both got a similar task ahead
no reply needed right now of course (write whatever whenever though, obviously) -- will sort vids at a good time.

NOT ORDERED LIST OF LINKS - NRN (NoReplyNeeded) also means write on anything at anytime *-)
There's a TON of youtube vids and forum posting and articles about bolt removal with MIG flux core welder - I did any old search i could think of and found these - that's all i have so far.
The LINK feature auto-adds the word "SPOILER' - it's nice the way it shows the VID inline.
