Battery on Frame Rail

I plane on doing that UPGRADE.... and I have started by getting myself
another battery... lol......
of course I still need to get more things. .
but this is a start.. lol
so I guess.. what I should ask . is other than the factory...... Battery tray....
should I do an isolater switch or not?
I was thinking I prolly would ..

The problem with a manual switch is remembering. In some RVs, they use a solenoid that is energized by the ignition switch, so every time the engine is on, the aux battery is charging. It looks like a old style starter solenoid, but I gotta think it's build for a longer duty cycle.

As for that red lead, if it goes in to the fuse block, and assuming it powers something, it stands to reason that there are fuses in that block that don't have power. I'd check them for power.

And the weekend was great. Lots of eating, drinking, and boating. The most memorable boat ride was me, in the boat, on the trailer, going to the ramp, about 3/4 mile through the center of this little tourist town. People were waving. I, of course, broke out my best "Queen- like wave". Great time.

I went back and looked at the post you sent me awhile back
talking about a steering wheel.
I researched some on the forum about just that and I am
ever more confused now than what I was... lol
I found an escalade its an 2002.... steering wheel is very
nice shape here is where the confusion sets in.
you said 2003 to 2006 wheel. but after reading more on the
forum they say that the 02 has a single stage air bag and the
03 has duel state... our Express van is a single state bag
and the clock ring you mentioned is a single stage as well.
So please tell me why the 2002 wheel will not work ?

I have started on the right side manifold gasket replacement....
and I would say I am lucky in a since that the bolt that is
broken is the farthest one back so I will be able to get to it
the easiest out of all of them lol hey ya gotta look at the
bright side.. lol right... lol
So its been broken for a long while it seems and the
flange gasket was worn too the manifold shows signs
of leakage.
figured I would post some shots and the progress
in the first pic you cant tell which bolt was broken
I sure had my hopes up that none were...
LMAO.. yeah ok... wishful thinking.. lol

I finished cleaning up all the parts...
New valve cover gaskets are a must.....
this engine was really greasy do
to the gaskets being bad.. and the fill tube
grommet worn slam out... I could invision
someone putting oil in and some of the oil
oozing out past the fill tube grommet.....

Instrument Cluster modification

I have been busy early this morning...
I had to get another lens mine was cracked
so in doing so I gave it some personality.

Don't know if you solved this in the past month...but i can give you my understanding of it....
I believe it is the power harness for the factory tow package wiring.
I recently purchased a 2004 express and have been troubleshooting the trailer connector wiring and i found that exact same terminal disconnected. Upon connecting it and replacing the 30amp #13- TRLR fuse, i got power back to the trailer connector in the back.

My belief would be that the owner before you disconnected it so as to not have a "hot" wire in the back, and also should you have the factory tow package, you will have another "hot" wire in the kickpanel in the drivers footwell, used for a trailer brake controller.

My van had blown fuses all over the factory trailer wiring setup due to bare wires left out in the open...so the previous owner of mine disconnected the power lead as well.

Also if you dont know how to determine if you have a factory tow package...look at the RPO codes on the edge of the passenger side door. there is a sticker with a ton of 3 digit codes that you can punch into GM RPO search tools online to find out what they mean...
For my vehicle, the RPO code of "U7Y" means "wiring harness, Truck Trailer HD"
