Default hinge to hold car door open

what do you call the hinge that holds the car door open. It's probably spring loaded. Need one for a 1947 Chevy delivery van and one for a 1970 Chevy C10

I seriously doubt there is a device that keeps a door open on a '47 anything, much less on a '70. Those typically are conveniences on newer vehicles.

yes there is such an item. Every vehicle made for the last 30 or 40 years or more has such a device. It may be called a "detent" hinge.

May be, but a '47 is quite a bit older than 30 or 40.
