I just joined with the hope I can find a little more information about Savana and Express vans. Has anyone ever seen or heard of someone replacing the AWD transfer case (NP3; Borg Warner 4473) found on some of the fullsize vans with an electric or manual 2HI/4HI/4LOW transfer case? A manual TC would be preferred but an electric would be easier to install.

I know it is possible to convert an AWD Astro into a 4x4 van by swapping in a NP233 transfer case without major surgery. A couple guys on another forum successfully swapped a TC and the electronic bits to an AWD Astro/Safari to gain low range 4WD. I am curious if the same is possible on these larger vans. I've never looked under one of these vans so any feedback or suggestions would be great!
