Hello, my ac got hot in the suburban, had it charged and still hot. i think it was blowing cold in the back, and hot in the front. Now it is hot everywhere. I did an internet search and completed a "reset" by removing an hvac fuse and following the instructions. Still blowing hot. Do i need to replace the actuator blend units (whatever you call them), all of them, or try something else? Also, got a nasty oil leak, either a valve cover, or maybe oil pan. Is a valve cover gasket a pain on these suburbans? Thanks so much.

I have a 02 suburban z71 I got a while ago and I've done a lot of work on it has 258k on it now I've done the power steering pump, fuel pump, knock sensors(relocated), front brakes, LF wheel bearing, alternator and serp belt it has all stock drivetrain from my knowledge with mostly highway miles on it as the first owners used it to go from arizona to Washington. I was wondering if anyone on here on here with a bit more experience and info on these trucks would let me know of anything else I need or should do to bullet proof it before I go on a road trip the transmission shifts pretty clean but from 2nd it takes a sec to shift and it doesn't feel like its slipping just taking its time if that makes sense

Hey everyone!

I recently picked up a 2022 Chevy Suburban and I am seriously considering adding a rooftop setup for off-road trips and overland adventures. I have been browsing options online but the choices are overwhelming. After doing some research, I keep coming back to the idea of a Suburban lightbar as the go-to upgrade for improving visibility on dark trails and remote roads.

Should I go with a curved or straight bar? What length works best without looking ridiculous on a full-size SUV? Are 50-inch bars overkill? Also wondering about wiring directly to the battery versus using a relay harness.

Any recommendations on trusted brands that offer solid build quality without breaking the bank? Appreciate any advice!

Hello, I need some help, and I promise I will listen to your opinions. I own a 2017 Chevy Tahoe (a former PPV model). My scanner indicated a misfire in Cylinder 2. I proceeded to replace the spark plugs, spark plug wire, and ignition coil, but the misfire persists. Upon checking the scanner again, I noticed several other codes as well, including U0100:00 (Lost Communication with Engine Control Module), U0401:71 (Invalid Data Received From Engine/Powertrain Control Module), U0422:71 (Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module), P0202:00 (Cylinder 2 Injector Control Circuit), and P0300:00 (Engine Misfire Detected). Some videos I’ve watched suggest checking the chassis ground connections, while others suggest that I need to reprogram the ECM/PCM. One other thing: I have already checked the fuel injectors, and they are all in good working order (they all have the same resistance). I also noticed that Cylinder 2 is not receiving any electrical current; I’ve ruled out the wiring harness as the culprit, as it appears to be in good condition. In fact, the specific wire responsible for delivering power to that injector harness—the one intended to feed Cylinder 2—is itself not receiving any current. I honestly have no idea what could be going on. Thanks in advance; I will read every single suggestion! THANK YOU!!!!

Hello,

I have a 2014 Chevy Suburban LTZ (5.3L) with 148,000 miles. I do all my own maintenance and keep her in as good of shape as I can. Recently she started to have a slightly rough idle. (Her first issue besides a cracked dashboard) Initially it was intermittent, sometimes idling perfectly smooth and sometimes the idle was noted to get a little low causing a slight shake. I could barely see the Rpm needle moving but it was noticeable. I figured it was possibly carbon build up or possibly dirty fuel injectors. I tried a concentrate fuel injector cleaner but there was no apparent change. I then did the following:

Using an OBD2 reader I see a P0300 Random Misfire (No Check Engine Light)

Short Term Fuel Trim on both Bank 1 & Bank 2 is approximately 0% to -2%

Long Term Fuel Trim on both Bank 1 & Bank 2 is approximately -17% to -20% (Rich)

Idle rpm varies from ~620 to 550

Engine running fuel pressure = ~42/43 psi

Replaced 8 new spark plugs (No change)

Replaced 8 new spark plug wires (No change)

Replaced 8 new ignition coils (No change)

Cleaned MAF sensor (No change)

Mass air flow rate from MAF sensor = 0.706 lb/min (Should ideally read around (5.3 grams per second at idle)

Converting 0.706 lb/min to grams per second (x453.6 / 60) results in approximately 5.34 g/s.

Unplugged MAF sensor to see if there was a change (Ran worse and threw MAF codes)

By now the slightly rough idle is getting worse, sometimes stumbling and sounding like it wants to die before the ECU catches it. I then did the following:

Removed and cleaned the throttle body.

Noted it as somewhat dirty, dirtier on the back side of the butterfly.

Noted the intake appears slightly wet.

Re-installed and did the idle re-learn procedure (No change)

P0300 Random Misfire remains (No Check Engine Light)

Long Term Fuel Trim on both Bank 1 & Bank 2 is approximately -17% to -20% (Rich)

By now the slightly rough idle is causing the engine to randomly die when slowing down to a stop (This happened twice)

I then

Replaced 8 new fuel injectors

Replaced the EVAP Purge valve

Noted reduction on idle stumbling below 500 rpm, no engine shutting off noted while slowing down however slightly rough idle remains

P0300 Random Misfire remains (No Check Engine Light)

Long Term Fuel Trim on both Bank 1 & Bank 2 is approximately -17% to -20% (Rich)

I then

Dropped the fuel tank and replaced the fuel pump / fuel pressure regulator assembly

Fuel tank appeared very clean inside

Used compressed air to blow out all the fuel and vent lines, no debris/charcoal came out of the lines (Only a small amount of fuel)

Reinstalled and drove ~5 miles round trip to the gas station to fill up.

Started right up, no leaks, fuel gauge works, no issues filling.

Idle still feels slightly rough.

P0300 Random Misfire remains (No Check Engine Light)

Long Term Fuel Trim on both Bank 1 & Bank 2 is approximately -17% to -20% (Rich)

My next steps will be to inspect, clean or replace the O2 sensors.
What else am I missing? Why is this engine running rich on both fuel banks?

Other maintenance I have recently done:

New brake pads and rotors

New tires

New front and rear air suspension

New serpentine belt

New battery

New wipers

Thank you for any help or thoughts.

Hi, long story short, found a mint 09 Suburban 2500 with an LY6 6.0L with only 65K miles from a government auction buy. I think the pushbar acted as some sort of anode like on an outboard motor and it rotted out first because there is no rust at all on the body or frame.

Anyway, I work on the Ontario Provincial Police vehicles at my shop in Canada and I have an account with a company called Lightning Equipment Supplies for ordering police specific parts. I sent them these pictures and the reply was

"Hi Nick, I checked with our supplier of push bumpers and it says it's not theirs.I would need to know the manufacturer and model number to dig deeper into this. Steve"

I thought it looked like a Setina, but they deal with Setina. Can anyone point me in the right direction to find replacement crossmembers for this bumper?

Thanks.
Husband wants me to trade it in with trade in value at 14,200. And get a Chevy Equinox Activ. Would have a car payment with trade in for 48 months $465 or 72 months at $365. I don’t want a car payment. I getting ready to retire.

Hello.
2003 Chevy suburban 5.3 area 480,000 miles.

Been chasing an oil pressure problem for sometime. Finally got around to changing the oil pan, oil pan gasket, oil pump, sending tube, and the camshaft thrust plate gasket. Good news is that fixed the oil pressure problem and very happy about. I do notice some oil dripping down – not heavily — from the bolt that connects the starter, which is on the passenger side of the transmission toward the top, the oil pan seal is definitely not leaking. This is where I need some expertise.

Oil pressure sensor was replaced a couple years ago so I don’t think that would be leaking but I have not checked that yet. I did clean off the valve cover gaskets and will drive that tomorrow to see if that’s where it’s coming from.

I did see another sensor up above the starter – maybe the camshaft or crankshaft sensor? Could that be leaking?

I don’t know much about what the rear main seal would look like, but it feels like this oil is coming from above the bell housing.

Any insights appreciated!

Randy

Hey guys need some help so past few days the traction control and check engine light have been randomly turning on and off on there own sometimes it's only the traction control light on with no check engine light other times it's both of them on at the same time , which when the traction control light comes on it will cause the rpm to occasionally stop working . When both lights are on the car will run really ugly and sluggish feels like it's struggling. Earlier husband cycled the key so the car was off and the check engine light was flashing at him then stopped .

Traction control light turns on even while we're sitting parked

more success with a pump to drain the fluid off, as far as making a mess....

it does not go into 3-4 gear from 2nd stays stuck was gradual, then bam,
I replaced all 5 solenoids , reset CPU is good and putting out the signal to the solenoid
but am thinking it is a broken spring in that on actuator so
question is, I am on the ground{72 y.o., but still surfing, jaaa} it is still bolted to bell housing
so if I bolt loose the valve body what is going to fall out of the top part? I am thinking the 7-8 little *****? so I can put on bench to check the actuators and springs , but maybe it is just the upshift3-4 and see if the spring is shot??
you help me I will make sure you have a GOOD times in El Salvador where I moved to in 1994, built a nightclub in 96...... and hope to drive this 05 suburban back, in May or June..
or it just might be trip to pick and pull, arrrrgh

senorpescado.com and tropicooltours.com

the motor has 240K but still sounds like a sewing machine, occasional lifter click but not that bad
