I have a 2016 Suburban in close to excellent condition, and I have a dilemma. It needs a new engine replacement at a cost of $11,500. I just replaced the entire transmission, tires, shocks, and struts last November. My question is do I trade in the Suburban for ($14,200) and get a new vehicle??
1. My first option is as follows:
2026 Equinox Activ I could use the trade as down payment and the 48 month payment would be $465 and the 69 month payment would be $395.
Option #2 I would get a Chevrolet Equinox EV they get my Suburban as a trade in and they will give me $5,888. This would be a two year lease and 15,000 miles per year
#3 Option I would get a Chevrolet Blazer AWD RS EV which would be a 2 year lease and 15,000 miles a year. They get the Suburban and it’s a wash.
i am not keen on an EV because I do home infusion therapy so I do a lot of traveling up to 2.5 hours one way. Plus I have a daughter who lives in Kentucky and I travel often to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Bottom line is it worth replacing the engine and keep the Suburban. I love my Suburban!!
