Default 2500 gas - towing question

Help! I’ve just purchased a Silverado 2500 (gas) to pull my travel trailer which weighs 8,500 pounds dry. I previously pulled the camper with my tundra (one time before I decided I needed a bigger truck). I must say I’m very disappointed with my truck purchase. I don’t pull the camper often , but there seems to be limited power the times I have. The tundra pulled better than the Silverado from a power standpoint. Am I missing something here? On the interstate to get to 65/70 mph I have to floor the truck and almost hold it there to keep it at that speed. Going up hills is a joke and seems to run 3500-4000 rpms almost all the time at higher speeds as if it can’t find the next gear.

Is thai typical for the Silverado gas?

Any past experience with pulling with this vehicle would be appreciated.

Thanks.
