2000 Cavelier Will Not Start when Hot.

Hi All

2000 Chevy Cavalier will not start when hot.

When we stop for gas or something it will not start, or turn over or anything.
Radio, Blower motor, all other electrical works but Nothing under the hood.
Starter does not turn over, Solenoid does not click or anything. No noises under the hood.

Once everything cools down it will start normally.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
Bill

Chevy had problems with their fuse block design. On several models, when the engine gets hot, the copper wire in the fuse blocks break causing a no start when hot condition. when they cool back down, the wires touch again and you can start the car. search YouTube videos for Chevy no crank when hot.

I'm not sure if this applies to your model and year but it sounds identical.

Thanks for the info.
I found 1 video dealing with a 2009 Malibu that has that fuse block issue.

My fuse block is much smaller than that one and the started relay is not in that block.
My relay hangs on the radiator support in the left corner of the engine compartment.
I am going to start by replacing that relay then move on from there.

Unfortunately looking at the relay I have no idea how to unlock relay.
It is not the simple clips on the side holding the repay to the harness.
It appears to be a complicated latch that I could easily break.
Any thoughts on that?
