Default 250 inline 6 to replace current 60 degree v6???

Ok, i got a good one for yall. I habe a 1985 amc chief (jeep cherokee) 2 door, 5 speed. 4x4. It came factory with a gm 2.8 60 degree v6. Currently running a 3.1 camaro block with 2.8 stuff on top. Its getting old and weak. Found a nice cheap 250 inline 6 i am wondering if anyone knows if its possible to set it in with current 5 speed setup? The jeep has a ax5 5 speed transmission bolted to the current 60 degree block. Is this possible? Would be an interesting and unique swap,, i like off the wall builds..

Probably be easier to drop an AMC 258 inline six. I have no idea if you can mate a 5 speed stick to a GM 250 IL 6. Both are slow, bigh torque, low HP
engines.
