283 problems

hi im the owner of a 63 bel air with a 283. New remanufactured card, new fuel pump, new rubber fuel hoses, new distributor, cap, points, plugs wires, new oil sending unit, and a couple other things. I've had on and off problems with this car but now I cant fix this one. The car starts, runs fine, but then after a minute or so, it cuts off. Now if put it in drive not too late after I start it it'll drive a little bit but once I put in back in gear it idles like **** and cuts off. I've fooled around with the carb had it running good but then this came and no matter what i set the carb at , it still cuts off. i have a bad exhaust leak but the car was running fine with it before. The car has hydraulics but I doubt hopping the car and other stuff would do anything significant to the motor. I have a coolant leak, the source can't be found but it seems to be coming from a freeze plug or somewhere above the cross member. The motor isn't in that bad of condition, it's just that it's old and minor parts have been replaced. The car used to run like a champ, the torque felt strong and the car picked up well for its size. I just don't know what happen now. If anyone could help me i would appreciate it, I don't know where else to ask and I don't have the money to take the car to someone or somewhere because I have a very limited budget right now. Thanks too anyone who can help me and if you need to know any other information I can let one know.

Or a bad fuel pump. How old is the fuel? If it's pretty old, it'll varnish up and mess up all kinds of things.
