305 misfiring
 
ive already changed out the spark plugs and spark plug wires i know the carburator is not adjusted right because its too rich and ive tried adjusting it but i couldnt find the right spot so would all of that cause a misfire? if so wat can i do? :confused:

Welcome, It could be a bad coil/loose wiring or the timing is off. But if you say your carb is not adjusted right it can be that too. Is this a project vehicle or a stock vehicle?

Need a little help here, new engine? High mileage engine? Year? Standard ignition for said year or retrofit/upgrade?

Type of carb? Is it stock, replacement or performance upgrade?

Assuming it's a Rochester 2 barrel, try closing the two carb adjustment screws gently, then backing them off 2 1/4 turns. That should put you in the ballpark for normal fuel flow.

Have you pulled the valve covers and looked at the pushrods and rocker adjustment? Sounds like you could have a couple bent pushrods or collapsed lifters.
