Brake Squeeling

The vehicle only has 21,533 Km's on it and the brakes squeel when applying light pressure. I've taken a look and they all seem fine. I cant stand brake squeel and have to get rid of it.

When applying moderate to alot of pressure, it doesnt squeel but if im rolling up to a traffic light or stop sign with a bit of pressure, it squeels alot.

Whats causing this? Is it cheap parts? Composition of the brake components?

How do i get rid of it? Ceramic pads?

The cause is normal operation. The squeel comes from a fall in the frequencyof acousticvibrations of the rotor, making the noise of braking audible to the human ear. Itsunavoidable ifit occurs. There are products that you can apply to the back of the brake pads to help contain the vibration and reduce the volume of the sound. Most of the products will be labeled as "Disc Brake Quiet"

also. you can simply take the tires off and use some brake cleaner. that and take off the pads and spray em too. thats what i did. well i was bored and had a guy in a warehouse and got all new pads rotors the works for under 100.

That will only workif there is residue on the pads and/or rotors causing the squeel.

Another cause can bethe pads and rotor have gottenworn to a glass-like finish. Whenever I get a complaint ofa high pitch squeal I check to see if all surfaces are really slick. If "yes" then I take my rotory sanding disc and put a crosshatch pattern on the front & back on the rotors. (do not sand the pads)plus usesome anti-squeal on the back of the pads for good measure.

If you end up taking the pads off, I would grind the leading edge of the pad to a 45 deg angle. I have found this helps reduce the squeeling.
