It can be welded but I don't know how string the weld will be. Cast aluminum like that is weldable. Might need to beef it up some with more weld beads. I've only welded steel so I don't know much about welding aluminum.

It may be better to weld it and to make a bracket that can use those other existing bolt holes to give it more strength.

I can add some brackets and weld this best I can. I guess my quistion is really how much tension is on that bolt. I know the upper mounts are rubber and flex I assume I should be able to move to some degreee. Do you think this might have happened from regular bumps and driving?

I could be wrong but I don't think you can weld it. pretty sure its magnesium impregnated.

Still should be weldable, however, the issue is really going to be getting the oil and grease out of the pores. It can't really be cooked off without removing and disassembling it. Even then, size might be an issue.

OP, did you solve this problem somehow? I think you did. Almost a year passed since you've created this topic. I have a similar issue right now. Can you tell me what you did to solve a problem? Was it weldable or not? I asked one of my friends about it and he sent me an article from the https://prowelderguide.com site. I think this was a joke, because an article was about underwater welding (I sank my car in a lake once). This article looks interesting, though. But it doesn't answer my question. Maybe you will help me?
