Disc brake rotor upgrade

I have 2003, GMC Sierra 1500, 4WD, extended cab, 5.3L Vortec. 4L60E transmission. truck GVWR6,400 lbs. Plan to start pulling large travel trailer within 80% of allowable tow limits. Lot of mountain passes here in the west to traverse.
Has anyone replaced the OEM front brake rotors with a rotor that is slotted, drilled or dimpled to mitigate over heating and subsequent warping of rotors?

What kind/brand of pads are you using?

Hows about your tranny fluid?
