Does Chevy still use wax for rust prevention?

This source here is from 2016, but I wonder if it's still happening now. Until I read this, I had no idea the GM used such an old-school process... I mean, it must work fairly well, because I haven't heard any widespread reports of corrosion issues. But it strikes me as odd... Is it common knowledge?

From what I can tell this hasn't caused any real problems, and the only real issue with rusting modern truck frames was with the Toyotas a few years back...Live and learn, but I thought this was wild!
