Engine horsepower help!
 

I recently purchased a 1969 nova with a chevy 350,'it needed some work and didn't run. With some time I managed to get the engine running great. I bought the car with a list of engine mods done to it but I have no clue of how much horsepower it's making... Here is a list of mods the engine has

355
Forged pistons
Pink rods
Comp cam
Heads are ported and polished
Large valves
Screwed in studs
Guide plates
Roller rockers
Jr. Vic intake
Holley 800 carborator

Can anyone help?

Wow, stuff like that is really hard to calculate, but, it sounds like you got a real "Tiger" there ! :D

You might have better results, looking up the specific items on their Manufacturers Websites, to get a +HP number for that item.

Was told the engine was build by "diamond racing" it's a 1974 4 bolt main block, I do not know what pistons are in it. But no one can seem to know how much HP it has, I called "diamond racing" an they cannot give out information about another persons build.

Unfortunate that they aren't as sharing as would be preferred...
Your next choice could be a Dynamometer Test, if you really want to know.

I can enter the specs into my Desktop Dyno program, but the results are to be considered only an estimate. However, you're missing some pertinent info needed for anybody to give an estimate; what heads (casting #), cam profile, was the block decked, have the heads been shaved, what's the head gasket (compressed) thickness? Without knowing all that info, you'll only be able to pull numbers out of the air, nothing more without doing an actual dyno run. Also, an 800 carb is awfully big for a 355.

I will have to get a casting number off the heads, and it seems to handle the Holley 800 very well. Could you punch them numbers into your desktop dyno and get a rough estimate on what the horsepower would be?

Do you know what your compression ratio is? The c.r. can change the outcome considerably.

11:1 compression I haven't had time to go out and get the casting numbers off the heads yet
