Engine/tranny swap
newbie
I have a 69 chey pickup with over 200k miles on the 2nd engine. It now goes thru a lot of oil but runs good. I am interested in swapping in a used gen IV with auto tranny. I want to have a flex fuel pickup - E85 is easy to find. It looks like I would need to get a engine/tranny, computer, gas petal for drive by wire, and perhaps a fuel tank with pump because of no return line. I plan to put in a Vintage Air AC. I am told that that these engines have AC compressor located on right front bottom of engine and may or may not cause problems I would try to get a Painless FI kit if they make such a thing. Would try to use exhaust manifolds that come on engine I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks |
