Fifth wheel towing suggestions 73-87

I just got a fifth wheel that’s a bit bigger then I thought that it would be. The trailer weights 14,500 lbs and I need to set up my truck to tow it within the next couple of months. I have a 73 c3500 dually with a fresh rebuilt sbc 350 and th400 trans and it’s a camper special. My question is what is needed to to this a couple hundred miles frequently. It only has 3.73 gears and I would like some suggestions on what gears to run for towing on the highway as well as other things that are recommended. I’d also like to hear from others out there that are doing the same thing.

a dually with 3.73? thought they pretty much only got 4.10 and 4.56
that much weight i would go with 4.56

Yeah I was a little confused. I didn’t know that they even put 3.73s in the Dana 70 HD axles

Well, its a 1973. Could be they put 3.73 ratio for gas mileage, but it was a long time ago. That said I am surprised that it didnt come with 4.10 ratio axles too.

i would suggest 4.56 when I get confused in this type of cases so I discuss with my towing service in Queens provide they guide me very well.
