Fuel

About a month ago I purchased a Trailblazer 2006 SS obviously I knew the gas mileage was going to be poor however I知 having an issue with my fuel meter, the needle suggesting I知 close to empty but my range on the vehicle will say 30-40 miles. I知 wondering what I should be trusting more.

Seriously, I'd carry some gasoline with you. Once you know the average mileage you can co by the odometer, for fill-ups.

GM was having problems with the stepper motors for their gauges from 03 to 06. That might be your problem if your steppers were never upgraded.

most vehicles are designed to have a reserve amount in the take when the gauge shows empty. My ram truck shows 70 km to empty just before the low fuel light comes on. Refuel at 40 miles to empty if you must let it go that low. keeping at least 1/4 tank of fuel keeps the fuel pump cool and most likely will extend the pumps life.
