how much cleaning in valley under lower intake?
 

Hi all,
New guy here changing out oem intake manifold gaskets on 1999 K1500 Burb. 5.7 L. I've cleaned up the mating surfaces of the intake and the block and was wondering how much cleaning up of the valley under the lower intake. I generally mopped up coolant and oil in there but was wondering how much more is appropriate. Do you guys that have done it take off the sheet metal baffle and scrape out sludge and shine it up good using solvent or just wipe and go? Thanks for any help on my first intake job!
