Hypertech Programmer 3 on a 2001 Silverado 5.3

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 5.3 extended cab pick up. The guy that sold it to me included the hypertech programmer with the truck. He reset it to factory settings before I purchased it. Anyone have any pointers on what settings are best for mpg gains? I plan to run 93 octane and add a k&n intake as well.

Select your fuel that you run and select 50% shift firmness and that will give you the best performance and fuel economy. If you have changed tire height or rear gear you need to correct for that as well.

Thanks for the input. So basically leave everything else as stock? Other than shift firmness, octane, and tire size?

I have been using the diablosport inTune on my Chevy's for about 6 years. Great customer support, and fantastic tunes! I have the 93 octane tune, afm disabled, TCM shifts tuned, and a few other things you can customize in the settings. highly recommend
should also mention, I've been using the same physical device for six years. I just remove the tune from my truck before I sell or trade it. I actually forgot to remove the tune from my last truck, and diablosport customer support restored my device for free!
