yeah thats going to be over $800. but hey i can kind of understand wanting to keep the original motor but then i would also want to keep the original trans

Yeah, that's pretty stiff. Thing is, I always put B&M kits in my auto transmissions whenever possible, and was thinking it might be good to just buy one of their transmissions, however, once I have the $$$s in hand, I will likely but out feelers among the local automotive community and see what's around.

At this point I'm really just researching, asking questions, reading books, learning ... relearning.

However, come what may ... it is SO good to be working on a CHEVY again (and one that I can actually understand)!
