problem with decoding a 327 engine

I was going thru some old stuff and found an engine that was given to me when I bought a car.

I was looking for a SBC to put together for a driver and didn't want to use some of my 'good' stuff. Just wanted 300+HP.

Well I started doing a jig when I removed all that new cosmoline stuff and found a RF suffix code with F1202RF.

Then I got home an looked at the pics I took in the near dark and saw a casting date of K293. So I got very depressed. The crank is forged but I couldn't get a number in the now dark.

If someone restamped this block they really did a great job as it looks very GM.

Is there a way I'm not decoding this properly? An engine can't be assembled before it was cast.

The heads I was given are double humps 461s with the big valves. I couldn't find a cam but I will look again tomorrow.

BTW I was given an older Edelbrock dual plane intake so no FE unit.

Thoughts?

Well I did figure it out even if no one is out there.

It is a 63 Corvette 327/375 FI block.

Thanks.

Wrong. It's a 64 block but is a 327/375 FI block. The 63 FI engine had 365 HP. Last communication with myself.
