Replaced my 02 silverado cd/radio with a 99 cd/radio - airbag light now on
As title says did a radio swap. Took out my non-working factory 02 radio and inserted an almost identical looking radio from a 99 truck. Mounted and plugged in the same.
Radio and cd work fine. Now my airbag light is on. Poking around the net I see: 1. Disconnect the battery for 3 minutes. All good. 2. Disconnecting the battery for this problem won't work. 3. Turn the ignition switch on and off 3 times then start the truck. 4. #3 is bull and won't work. 5. Take to a dealer and have them use a scanner to re-set the airbag error code. Pay $20 to $80. 6. Take to Autozone and have them re-set with their scanner for free. Anyone here know the truth? Thanks. |

Well, tried the ignition on/off deal and disconnecting the battery. Neither worked.
Guess I'll have to try the scanner deal unless someone knows of another way. |
