The Chevy/AC Delco brake pads suck for my 04 Impala SS. What aftermarket pads do you guys reccommend?

Yes, good brands and MDTAHOE recommended a brand too. Can't remember what it was but it, the name, sounded like some kind of oriental VD (AKEBONO???). lol

I put Performance Friction rotors and pads on my 07... no noise whatsoever and much stronger stopping power... a little pricey though

I just bought the Hawk ceramic pads. I'll give an update after installing them.

Take some pics if you're replacing them yourself and maybe you could do up a little HOW TO

The brake pad installation is really as simple as pie. You need to remove the caliper from the caliper bracket (two bolts from the back...do not remove the brake line from the caliper, just set the caliper on top of the rotor so you are not putting stress on the hose), then take the pads out. Put the new pads in, making sure that they are seated properly in the clips. Then compress the caliper back down with a C-Clamp, slide the caliper back on, bolt back in to the bracket and you are all set.

I work in a parts dept at a Ford dealership. I've got a couple of techs who work on my cars for free. I won't be doing a DIY, sorry. I suck at mechanical stuff.
