Fuel issue pump, regulator, filter?

ok guys here's what's going on, car has reduced fuel mileage, I was driving the other day and completely shuts off while driving, I can immediately restart but when driving a couple minutes shuts off again. I hooked up a pressure Kit to the fuel rail it's reading a steady 40 psi which I know is low for the SS however if I remove the regulator line it jumps to 50. Any idea guys? Thanks

ss supercharged or ss 5.3? year, engine?

if it stalls from lack of fuel, usually, the engine stumbles and then dies....even if the fuel pump shut off...it still may sputter. a spark or electronic issue...its stalls just like you turned off the key. fuel issues also show up as lack of power.

When it shut off....so the engine stalled and all the dash lights came on as if the key was on engine off? or all dash lights went out?

It's a supercharged ss 3.8 it's a 2004. So I ran some Sea foam threw it hoping to clear it out or what not. Pressure remained at 40. Also after about 10-15 car just stalls out.

fuel pressure specs for the sc 3.8 is 55-60 psi
view the fuel trim with a scan tool...if its adding fuel to the adaptive limit during a hard acceleration you have even more evidence to confirmed a fuel pressure problem.
fuel trim lean dtc may also be setting.
change the fuel filter and if the problem remains, replace the fuel pump. make sure the fuel pump has good power and grd.

Thanks tech I installed filter no change also installed fuel pump no change. However this was around the injectors

that is a leaking valve cover and intake manifold gaskets.

so did the fuel pressure come up or not?
what were the results of the checks i recommended?
- view the fuel trim readings....at idle and 2500 rpm...this is a good indicator if the fuel system is running lean or not.

-did you check the voltage/grd at the fuel pump.

No the fuel pressure did not change. I'm not sure how to use a scan tool.e very thing power and ground wise checked out. However I did open the radiator cap and found this
