Default Generator conversion

Looking to convert my 1962 Impala from a generator to alternator. Not sure what amp alternator to use?

You need to post some specifics, is it a small block, radio, lights anything extra? If it's a 6cyl with nothing else electrical, and not an oversized battery, probably a 50 amp. You will also have to consider the alternator wiring will it require a voltage regulator?

LED's won't require as much power, and I recommended a 50 amp that's because I believe that's the smallest size. You can put whatever you want in the frame size that it will fit. As long as you're not powering up a city block size stereo.

Get a 10SI alternator. They come in different amperage and are 1 wire easy hookup. I have done this many times and it works well and easy to do. You will either need to make or buy a mounting bracket.
